Flower delivery in Slapy from a Prague florist

Slapy is in the Praha-západ District, about 27 km south of Prague. The village is 3 km from the Vltava. In 2025, it had approximately 965 residents.

The first written record of Slapy, then called Zlapich, dates from 1292 in the founding charter of Zbraslav Monastery. The Baroque Church of St Peter and St Paul was altered to a design by J. B. Santini-Aichel, and a cemetery adjoins it to the north. At the southern edge of the village stands a chateau whose Neo-Baroque main building was completed in 1930; it is now privately owned. The Slapy Reservoir on the Vltava, beside which Slapy lies, was officially opened in 1954 and stretches for 43 km.
